Results of round 3 eliminations in Pro Extreme Motorcycle at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL Carsafe Dragpalooza VIII:
Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 1134 Casey Stemper 518 Billy Vose E3 ****WINNER**** 0.147 4.086 173.01 0.054 4.202 166.07 Prior rounds: E2 (D VANTINE ) 0.020 4.109 171.62 (D NORRIS ) 0.010 4.109 170.73 E1 (C NICHOLS ) 0.035 4.127 171.60 (C WILBURN ) 0.037 4.137 171.64 Qualified: #2 4.123 171.34 #3 4.136 171.82
8:19 p.m. These two ran identical ETs in the quarterfinals, so this matchup looked like it would be decided at the starting line.
When the reaction times came up, Vose looked like a sure winner, but something caused him to slow on the top end, while Stemper ran low ET of the event for the win. Casey Stemper's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.099), 330 ft(-0.045). MOV: 0.0232 seconds (approximately 6 feet).
Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 5 Eric McKinney 12 Scott Gray E3 ****WINNER**** 0.026 4.085 175.75 0.031 4.108 170.79 Prior rounds: E2 (R HUNNICUTT ) 0.018 4.091 175.09 (T JONES ) 0.011 4.140 170.36 E1 (C WATSON ) 0.041 4.092 175.32 (D HOLLOWAY ) 0.017 4.162 170.79 Qualified: #1 4.096 174.57 #4 4.147 170.00
On paper, McKinney had the edge here. Gray had a small advantage at the tree and a big advantage after that, running low ET and top speed of the event.

Hintz had the advantage at the green, but it wasn't enough and Gahm caught him in the first 60 feet, then pulled away for the win. Brian Gahm's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(0.000), 330 ft(0.008). MOV: 0.0204 seconds (approximately 5 feet). Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Nitrous at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL Carsafe Dragpalooza VIII:
Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 2792 Jamie Hancock 360 Bob Rahaim E2 0.192 6.603 73.57 ****WINNER**** 0.071 3.905 194.18 Prior rounds: E1 (J DECERBO ) 0.008 4.184 175.23 (J PILCHER ) 0.085 3.916 193.46 Qualified: #7 4.015 186.38 #3 3.882 192.77
8:41 p.m. Race officials are trying to get the cars turned around as quickly as possible because of possible dew problems this evening.
Hancock was late, then shook and slowed. Rahaim heads for the final round.
Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 8 Rickie Jones 1 Mike Castellana E2 ****WINNER**** 0.074 3.821 197.45 No Time Prior rounds: E1 (J LAURITA ) 0.041 3.896 193.43 (D RIESTERER ) 0.064 4.019 192.47 Qualified: #4 3.888 188.20 #1 3.841 195.68

Results of round 2 eliminations in Supercar Showdown at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL Carsafe Dragpalooza VIII:
Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 8 Bo Butner 428 Kevin Helms E2 ****WINNER**** 0.085 5.849 119.56 0.039 9.051 77.47 Prior rounds: E1 (K HELMS ) 0.134 5.837 119.19 (B BUTNER ) 0.060 5.971 116.24 Qualified: #2 5.838 119.40 #4 6.053 115.48
9:03 p.m. Warned you about this one...Helms was the quickest loser inn round one, so came back to replace the scheduled bye in this round. Helms had a good light, then spun the tires hard and slowed.
Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 3334 Chris Holbrook 4772 David Buckner E2 ****WINNER**** 0.173 5.807 119.97 0.152 15.518 27.31 Prior rounds: E1 0.328 5.769 120.33 (J TEUTON ) 0.124 6.138 112.93 Qualified: #1 5.756 120.21 #5 6.073 113.24
This one is harder to explain. Joe Teuton was scheduled to face Holbrook, but damaged his Challenger when he drove it into the trailer to change the oil. Since the car was too damaged to race, Buckner came back under the "break rule." However, he fared no better than Helms, also losing traction. The two Mustangs will face off in the final round, Holbrook has lane choice against Butner.

9:52 p.m. Pluchino has never won one of these events, Gahm has won several of them and has to be considered the favorite in this matchup. However, strange things have happened today.
Pluchino needed a sizeable holeshot to have a chance and he did what he had to do, with a five hundredths advantage on the tree. Gahm nibbled that down a lot, but never did get his nose out in front. John Pluchino's incremental margins: 60ft(0.035), 330 ft(0.024). MOV: 0.0168 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

10:02 p.m. Neither of these drivers has won a Minuteman, so we will have a third first-time winner in a few moments.
Pittman is no stranger to the winner's circle, but he is new to the ADRL winner's circle. Myers left second, then slowed, and Pittman adds his name to the list of Extreme 10.5 winners.

9:56 p.m. Stemper has never won a Minuteman trophy and had a good shot at joining John Pluchino as a first-time winner. However, McKinney has been here before and was quicker in the semifinals, but only by a thousandth of a second.
Stemper grabbed a two hundredths edge at the green, then McKinney had a big POP from the engine at half track to end his pursuit.
Two first-time winners so far and we are assured of at least one more, in Pro Nitrous.

10:11 p.m. This is it, the last final round of the event. Smith ran low ET of the event in the semifinals, but Hossler was not far back.
More strange things happened here, Smith's car unable to stop after the burnout. Hossler had to wait for Smith's car to be removed from the far end of the track before he could stage the car and take his victory lap. Because of the long delay, Hossler staged the car, took the green, and shut the car off. The decision was made to finish this way because Hossler's car was overheating and Smith's car was still not clear on the top end.
